Depart Nairobi in a custom 4x4 Land Cruiser with a pop-up roof, descending the dramatic Great Rift Valley escarpment before entering the reserve in time for an afternoon game drive. Spend a full day tracking lion prides, elusive leopards and thundering herds, with a picnic lunch on the banks of the Mara River. Evenings are spent around the campfire at a mid-range tented camp, falling asleep to the distant whoop of hyenas.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
1Nairobi to Maasai Mara — Afternoon Game Drive
Depart Nairobi at 7:30 am, stopping at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint before continuing through Narok to the Mara. Arrive for lunch at camp, then head out on your first game drive from 4:00 pm until sunset. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
2Full Day in the Maasai Mara
A dawn-to-dusk day of game viewing with a picnic lunch by the Mara River, where hippos wallow and crocodiles bask. Your guide tracks the reserve's famous lion prides and searches the acacia branches for leopard. Optional Maasai village visit in the late afternoon.
3Morning Game Drive — Return to Nairobi
A final early-morning game drive catches predators at their most active. After breakfast, depart the Mara and arrive in Nairobi by late afternoon with a drop-off at your hotel or the airport.
