Overview
This southern circuit pairs two of Kenya's most atmospheric parks. Start beneath the snows of Kilimanjaro in Amboseli, photographing big-tusked elephants against Africa's highest peak. Continue to Tsavo West for the crystal springs of Mzima — where hippos drift past an underwater viewing chamber — and the eerie Shetani lava flows, before finishing among the famous red elephants of Tsavo East. Ideal for travellers heading to or from the coast.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
1Nairobi to Amboseli — Afternoon Game Drive
Depart Nairobi at 7:30 am for Amboseli, arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive across the swamp-fed plains with Kilimanjaro looming to the south. Overnight at an Amboseli lodge.
2Amboseli Sunrise — On to Tsavo West
Dawn game drive for the classic clear-sky Kilimanjaro photograph, then drive to Tsavo West. Visit Mzima Springs and the Shetani lava flows before dinner at your safari camp.
3Tsavo West to Tsavo East
Morning game drive in Tsavo West's volcanic hills, then cross to Tsavo East for an afternoon drive along the Galana River among red-dusted elephant herds. Overnight inside the park.
4Final Game Drive — Nairobi or the Coast
Early game drive past Lugard Falls, then depart for Nairobi — or transfer onwards to Mombasa and Diani Beach to extend your trip with a beach holiday.
