Serengeti National Park
Endless plains and the world's greatest wildlife spectacle
About Serengeti National Park
The Serengeti is Tanzania's crown jewel — 14,750 km² of open savannah, seasonal woodlands and kopje-dotted plains supporting the largest concentration of plains game on Earth. Home to the Great Migration, where over two million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle complete their annual circuit, the Serengeti also harbours dense resident populations of lion, leopard, cheetah and elephant.
Highlights
- Great Migration river crossings at Grumeti and Mara rivers
- Year-round big cat concentrations in Seronera Valley
- Balloon safaris at sunrise over the plains
- Kopje rock formations and their resident leopards
